Saturday, June 7th was a beautiful, sunny, warm June day. A day that had to be enjoyed, because this is Seattle and we don't get a lot of beautiful, sunny, warm June days. In the morning I met up with my best photography buddies, Brady and Brent, and some other photography pals, at the Glazer's Camera Supply Photofest to check out gear that we couldn't afford but really wanted. Brent mentioned the Ballard Criterium bicycle street race was going on in the evening. He thought we should go and check it out, maybe take a few shots. We met up and found a good spot close to a corner of the course. We sat right on the edge of the sidewalk, and could feel the draft as the groups whizzed by. I think my favorite part was the facial expressions of the riders. The evening light was beautiful; we saw the last three racing events. An enjoyable time was had by me, Brady and Brent.
1.000 images later, I had much to go through and I culled it down to the following images. Next year if you're in Ballard (Seattle), Washington, check out The Second Ascent Ballard Criterium.
